Submit your question for Councilmember Moorman
Arvada Councilmember Randy Moorman will attend the November 3, 2022 Meadowglen Board meeting. We’d like to give him as much time as possible to collect information on questions you may have. Use the form below to submit your question and the Board will forward them on to the Councilmember. Please submit all questions by Oct 21.
The Board of Directors will submit the following questions:
- The Castle Gate apts. at 84th Way and Wadsworth have considerable criminal (including gang) activity. While several blocks away from Meadowglen, it is close to Pomona High School and Moore Middle School, and this directly affects our children. What proactive measures are the Arvada Police, and specifically, the Baker Sector commander, taking to address the activity there?
- The Hobby Lobby at 80th and Wadsworth has been vacant for a long time. Is the Arvada Economic Development Association taking any proactive measures to entice development/businesses in older areas of town, such as the vacant Hobby Lobby at 80th/Wads? If not, is there anything we can do to encourage them to do so?
- The Revive Church is working on the Beyond Home Transitional Housing Campus project in the strip mall across from the Meadowglen community. While the Meadowglen community desires to be supportive of such an important project, it does raise concerns, such as home values, increased homeless activity, etc. What steps can we take to ensure open dialogue with our sector commander, council, and, at the point when plans for the affordable housing are submitted to the planning commission, we can follow the progress and provide input?
- The Pomona Lake water level has been of considerable concern to homeowners. Until a couple years ago, the parks team opened and closed the inlet valve to keep the lake at an optimum level. A new water commissioner has restricted that to “one fill” per year based on water rights. While we understand water rights must be properly applied, is there anything the City of Arvada can do to help us purchase additional water rights?
